“Start – 2023” Film Project Contest

“Azerbaijanfilm” film studio named after Jafar Jabbarli announces the “Start – 2023” film project contest in order to support creative people working in the field of national cinematography, stimulate the activity of young directors working in this direction, and bring new names to the cinema environment.

Subject

The contest is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio.

The contest is held on a free topic. The contest has no genre restrictions. Directors who will make their debut films (1st or 2nd film in the applied category) can participate in the competition.

Categories

The competition is held in 2 categories:

• Category 1: Feature film – full length or short film
• Category 2: Short animated film (up to 26 minutes)

Awards:

The winning authors are awarded with a diploma. The projects that won the first place in each category will be produced by the director who presented them at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. A contract is concluded with the authors who win the contest and the rights and obligations are reflected in the contract. The deliberations of the Expert Council are kept confidential. Management and the Expert Council are not responsible for any controversial issues that may arise later regarding the copyright of the projects submitted to the contest.

The documents submitted to the contest should be sent electronically to the email address musabiqe@azerbaijanfilm.az between November 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023. The deadline for applications to the contest ends on January 31, 2023 at 00:00 Baku time. Applications sent after this date are considered invalid. Applications by e-mail should be sent only under the heading ” Müsabiqə”.
