Meeting held at the Copyright Agency

At the meeting held between the Copyright Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Creative Industries Federation, the Chairman of the Board of the Agency, Professor Kamran Imanov spoke about the development of creative industries of our country, the protection of intellectual property rights and the work done by the Agency in this field. He also stated that it is appropriate to determine the share of creative industries in the GDP for our country in accordance with the requirements of the new creative economy period using the relevant guidelines of the World Intellectual Property Organization. For this purpose, according to the guidelines mentioned above, the relevant statistical indicators have been prepared and submitted to the relevant institutions.

Vasif Eyvazzade, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Creative Industries Federation gave information about the operational directions of the Federation and its prospective projects, and noted the importance of inter-institutional active cooperation in resolving fundamental issues for the development of creative industries in our country, and stated that the Federation is ready for joint cooperation, taking into account advanced international know-how in the implementation of relevant measures in accordance with the Action Plan of the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy for the years 2022-2026” approved by the Head of State in his Decree dated July 22.

In the end, in accordance with the mentioned Action Plan, it was agreed on the formation of a modern normative legal, statistical base, intellectual property, as well as management mechanisms for the development of creative industries, as well as joint projects and measures that will contribute to the development of the field, as well as the signing of a document on joint cooperation between the Agency and the Federation.
